Twitch announced that it had added a new feature which is exclusively designed to boost small streamer’s profile apart from providing them an advanced platform to collaborate. The game developers have named this feature as ‘Squad Stream.’ It will allow four Twitch streamers to go live on the same screen. With this, the viewers would find it easy to watch this action from four different angles. With this, not only the small host creators would get several opportunities but they will get a chance of sharing their screens with the audience as well.
The developers have built the Squad Stream on existing discoverability features, for example riding and hosting. It will allow the large creators to spotlight their fellows by transmitting a wave of viewers directly to the stated channel. In this way, they can mirror someone else’s stream. And hence, it would be the broadcaster for a big follower base. Twitch is laying its focus on this fact that streamers should actively team up with each other and provide benefits to every person participating in the channel.
Hubert Thieblot, Vice President of Creator Experience at Twitch announced this new feature by penning down a post on Medium. He stated that creators could join directly from the dashboard and stream the contents that they couldn’t do earlier. At the same time, it will help them to grow their communities. And they could even join a new one.
Twitch has started to advertise this new feature through speedrunning sessions as well as tabletop streams. It would be useful for those streamers who stream games such as League of Legends, Fortnite, and Apex Legends. The company also included some top-level streamers such as CS: GO pro-Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek among others to illustrate how it would work for games such as League and Apex. The company is also planning to launch this feature for its other favorite games series as well.
